Hi Dan,
I really like these photos that you took with the little camera. It just goes to show what you can do if you know the limitations of your equipment and work within it to maximize its potential. I especially like this photo. I like graphic images, and the dark diagonals against the blue background are appealing. I also like the first photo at the top of your Blog. The light and and colour really capture the essence of "Morning". Great photos.

Hi John,

Thanks for your comments! The color version of the photo of you on the trail was ok, but I like this version the best. I de-saturated all the colors but red, which helps draw the viewers focus down the road to the main subject. Thank you for being my RED Canoe! The silver / gray tones of the dew on the plants with the hint of red really help to capture the mood of the moment. The golden light and the green tones of the color version are ok but it did not create the visual impact and mood that this version captures.
I to am attracted to bold contrast in color and line which was what drew me to make this image of the tree limbs and sky. Though I would bet a lot of people would look at this image and think there is no real subject and it is just a waste of film.
